This model is a collaborative creation of CLOT, sacai, and Nike, titled "Nike LD Waffle sacai CLOT Kiss of Death 2 Cool Grey". This sneaker is a continuation of the previous project which saw the release of the "Kiss of Death 2", an iteration of the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse that began its story in 2006 and was influenced by ancient Chinese healing traditions. The LDWaffle borrows design principles from the original Hyperfuse, which was launched in 2010 with the Nike Hyperfuse basketball shoe. The design has been streamlined, with layers removed and heat-pressed down, akin to the Air Max 1 Hyperfuse. The entire construction of the shoe, aside from the heel tab and counter, reflects these principles. The color scheme of the "Kiss of Death 2" is also carried over, with the speckling on the midsole being a distinct feature.
