Saucony Shadow 6000 Green
The Saucony Shadow 6000 Green is one of the rare colorways where color and material truly complement each other, as green has often served as a testing ground for the model's full-suede versions. Like the rest of our sneakers, the Shadow 6000 gets its look from its layered construction, but some variations deliberately break this rule. At The Last Step, this Saucony collection reference appeals to those who want a retro silhouette with true material craftsmanship. Here, the green ranges from muted khaki to vibrant seasonal green, depending on the version. Here's what distinguishes this Saucony Shadow 6000 green, and how to wear it every day.
Saucony Shadow 6000 Green: When Material Takes Over
Normally, the Shadow 6000 stacks suede and mesh in distinct panels. Some series have gone against this recipe. In 2022, for the model's thirtieth anniversary, Saucony released a full-suede version: perforated suede base, suede overlays, and a contrasting white sole. Vibrant green is one of the four shades in this series, alongside salmon, tan, and light grey with reflective details. Three years earlier, the brand had already explored the botanical palette with the "Saucomole," a guacamole-inspired version where green and brown blended on the suede upper and leather overlays, with a thematic logo on the tongue and insoles. Green, at Saucony, has therefore never been a filler color.
Design and Materials of the Saucony Shadow 6000 Green
Depending on the version, green adorns either the entire upper or only the side panels and logo. Full-suede versions provide a softer feel and a more uniform look, whereas classic versions show the contrast between mesh and suede. The perforation, present on the base of some series, provides breathability without breaking the uniformity of the material. Underfoot, the EVA foam remains true to the model's spirit, with a measured volume, and the outsole retains its triangular lugs. The white of the midsole most often serves as a clear separation from the green of the upper.
How to Wear the Shadow 6000 Green Daily
The Shadow 6000 generally fits true to size, with a narrow forefoot that warrants a half-size up for wider feet. Green naturally pairs with natural tones: beige cargo pants, brown chinos, a canvas jacket. Raw denim and an oversized white t-shirt are also enough to let the pair speak for itself. For a more contemporary look, opt for black joggers and a grey hoodie, which isolates the green as the only splash of color in the outfit. Full-suede versions, softer on the eye, work better in an already busy outfit than high-contrast colorways.

FAQ
What size should I take for a Saucony Shadow 6000?
The model generally fits true to size. Its forefoot is narrow and tapered, so a half-size up is more comfortable if you have wide feet.
What is the Saucony Shadow 6000 "Saucomole"?
Released in 2019, it's a thematic version inspired by guacamole, with green and brown tones on a suede upper and leather overlays. The Saucony logo was featured on the tongue and insoles.
What's the difference between a full-suede Shadow 6000 and a classic version?
The classic version alternates suede and mesh panels, creating a visible contrast between the materials. The full-suede version uses suede throughout the upper, with a perforated base for breathability, for a more uniform look.
Does the green suede of a Shadow 6000 fade?
Dyed suede can lighten with prolonged sun exposure or repeated contact with water. Regular dry brushing and air drying after rain are enough to maintain color intensity.
