adidas BW Army Decon Dove Grey Gum strips away everything possible from the BW Army. "Decon" stands for deconstructed: the heel counter is removed, the heel becomes soft and foldable, allowing the shoe to be worn closed or as a mule, just like the Samba Decon before it.
The BW Army originates from the training shoe supplied to Bundeswehr recruits in the 70s and 80s. In this version, the upper is dove grey leather with suede overlays on the toebox; the lining and insole are made of smooth leather, and the laces are waxed and color-matched. The edges are left raw, slightly frayed, for a pre-worn look. The sole is made of gum rubber. Underfoot, the "BW-Sport 265" inscription replaces the usual adidas branding.
It is available in several monochrome colorways (green, royal blue, white, black), always with laces matching the color of the upper. The dove grey is arguably the most versatile. Spotted at Dover Street Market for Fall-Winter 2026, it arrived in Europe before the United States. A slip-on pair that bridges the gap between the Samba Decon and the BW Army's military heritage.
