The Birkenstock Arizona Birkibuc Grey Taupe takes the German brand's most recognizable sandal and gives it a versatile makeover. The Arizona is the two-strap model born in 1973, long confined to the comfort section before becoming a fashion statement in its own right, worn by dad-style enthusiasts and designers who have brought it back into vogue.
The special feature of this version lies in its material. Birkibuc is an in-house synthetic textile, brushed to mimic the look of nubuck, but much more durable and, above all, easy to clean with a damp cloth. Practical for a sandal that lives outdoors. The grey taupe color offers a neutral and slightly warm shade, neither quite gray nor truly beige, which goes with just about everything.
Underneath, you'll find the famous cork and latex footbed, molded to the shape of the foot, with its pronounced arch, deep heel cup, and wide toe box. The insole lining is made of suede, the two straps adjust with metal pin buckles, and the whole rests on a lightweight EVA sole. Made in Germany. Note that it comes in two widths (regular and narrow), which explains the two references. The kind of pair you keep for years, that molds to your foot with wear, and that you slip on without a second thought, whether in the city or at the beach.
