New Balance 992 Made In USA Dark Camo comes from the autumn collection of the Made in USA line overseen by Teddy Santis, the founder of Aimé Leon Dore who became the creative director of this range. The 992 was released in 2006 as an evolution of the 991: mesh, suede, and an ABZORB sole designed to absorb shock. Assembled in the brand's American factories, it is one of the models New Balance reserves for its most elaborate colorways.
The Dark Camo blends a dark camouflage print on the mesh and olive green suede overlays, with a matching lateral N. Beneath, a light-colored midsole lightens the overall look. The result has a utilitarian, almost military aesthetic that the sneaker press quickly took note of.
