Nike Air Max 1 Light Army adds a touch of khaki to the pair that first showcased Air. In 1987, Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Max 1 with a window in the sole to make the air bubble visible, an idea he says he drew from the Centre Pompidou and its exposed pipes. Since then, the silhouette has barely changed.
This women's version features the '87 cut with its larger air bubble. The upper blends white leather, light gray suede on the mudguard, and light mesh, while the Swoosh and finishing touches are colored in a "Light Army" olive green that gives the colorway its name. A few black accents on the tongue and heel complete the look.
A white and khaki Air Max 1 pairs perfectly with jeans, beige cargo pants, or wide-leg trousers without ever clashing. It retains the comfort of the Max Air under the heel and that retro look that appeals as much to collectors as it does to those buying their first Air Max. Women's fit.
