Nike Air Tech Challenge II Back to the US Open
Size guide
Nike Air Tech Challenge II Back to the US Open brings Andre Agassi’s shoe back to the courts of the 1989 and 1990 US Open, the Air Tech Challenge II designed by Tinker Hatfield. Its name and palette are reminiscent of the Nike Mag from Back to the Future Part II, also designed by Hatfield. Nike hasn't confirmed this connection, but the community embraced it immediately.
The upper features light grey and white tumbled leather. The turquoise inserts on the side panels and heel sole, the blue speckling on the midsole, the translucent icy forefoot sole, and the orange-to-yellow gradient on the tongue label and insole are the details fueling the comparison with the Mag.
Technically, nothing has changed: polyurethane midsole, encapsulated Air in the forefoot, visible Air in the heel, herringbone rubber outsole, and padded tongue. Carlos Alcaraz wore ATC IIs in 2026, which didn't hurt their value. Distributed by Nike and a few New York retailers, in men's sizes only.
