Nike KD 17 Christmas continues a well-established tradition at Nike Basketball: every winter, Kevin Durant receives a Christmas pair, and every year it is highly anticipated. The Christmas version of the KD 17 focuses on ice rather than red and green: Aquarius blue and glacier blue on the upper, white on the sole, and metallic silver on the details and logo.
The sneaker press has described a "shattered glass" effect on the side panels, with facets reminiscent of cracked ice, and an Easy Money logo embroidered on the tongue. Nike has not detailed a specific inspiration for this colorway, so we are sticking with the obvious winter theme. The model itself, the KD 17, pays homage according to Nike to Kevin Durant's childhood and an orange pair of Air Max that left an impression on him.
Underfoot, the KD 17 combines an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot, an Air unit in the heel, responsive foam in between, and a rubber outsole with a topographical pattern. It is a complete basketball shoe, also wearable in the city for those who like performance silhouettes. Light blue is a rare color in basketball and it works very well with grey, white, or black. For sizing, the KD 17 fits true to size.
