Nike Kobe 11 Protro Mamba Day ramène l'une des paires les plus chargées d'histoire de toute la ligne Kobe. Le 13 avril 2016, Kobe Bryant jouait son dernier match NBA et plantait 60 points pour tirer sa révérence. Le soir même, Nike ouvrait la personnalisation de la Kobe 11 sur NikeiD pour marquer le coup. Dix ans plus tard, jour pour jour, elle revient enfin en version publique, et en Protro.
Le coloris Mamba Day garde sa recette d'origine. Une tige en Flyknit noir couverte de chiffres et de dates dorés qui retracent la carrière du joueur, du 81 points aux cinq titres, avec le logo Sheath doré sur la languette. Petit détail qui distingue cette édition : un tag « 2026 » à l'arrière de la languette, là où l'originale laissait choisir son texte. En dessous, une semelle translucide effet glace vient compléter le tout.
Là où la version 2016 tournait sur du Lunar, ce Protro passe sur un amorti modernisé pour rester jouable sur parquet aujourd'hui. C'est ce qui sépare une réédition d'un simple retro : la paire se porte en salle autant qu'elle se collectionne. Tirage limité, forte charge symbolique, dixième anniversaire d'un moment gravé dans la mémoire des fans. Ce genre de sortie ne repasse pas deux fois.
