Nike Kobe 8 Year of the Horse (2026) (GS) brings back a colorway fans have been waiting for since 2014. Back then, the Kobe 8 Year of the Horse was part of Nike's Chinese Zodiac collection and was only available in men's sizes. This version celebrates the 2026 Lunar New Year, once again the Year of the Horse, and arrives in Grade School sizing for the first time.
The engineered mesh transitions from light crimson red to lemon yellow in a brushed gradient, with bright blue accents and a few golden touches. The year 2026 is printed on the elastic collar straps, next to the Sheath logo. A horse is drawn on the inside of the tongue. The outsole is translucent, with an icy look.
In the Chinese zodiac, the horse is associated with energy and speed. Whether it fits Kobe well is our opinion, not Nike's. For younger fans (or those with smaller feet), it's a great opportunity to wear a Kobe 8 Protro faithful to the original, without having to go through the adult-size resale market.
