Nike Kobe 9 Elite Protro What The (2025) (GS): the kids' and teens' version of the most elaborate Kobe 9 Elite ever released, returning in 2025, ten years after the original. The What The concept is simple: take several colorways of the same model and assemble them onto a single pair. On this Kobe 9, patterns from the various 2014 Elite Highs are found side-by-side on the collar, the reinforcements, and the tongue.
The base is white Flyknit, that woven mesh that rises high on the ankle. Over it, touches of chlorine blue, orange, green, and volt, a reflective silver Swoosh, and a multicolored grip tape-style logo on the tongue. Black settles it all down on the sole. On the heel, sneaker press reminds us that the nine lines refer to Kobe Bryant’s 2013 Achilles tendon injury.
In terms of structure, it keeps the carbon fiber plate that supports the foot laterally and the anatomical sole of the original model. It is a true basketball shoe, high-top, intended for play.
This GS (grade school) size corresponds to junior sizes, approximately from 3.5 to 7 US. Enough to fit a teen Kobe fan, or an adult with narrow feet who wants the pair in a smaller size. Take your usual Nike size.
