Nike Kobe 9 EM Low Light Silver Steam (GS) is a Protro, or in other words, a modernized retro. The original Kobe 9 EM Low dates back to 2014, a significant year: that of Kobe Bryant's return after his Achilles tendon rupture.
The colorway is intentionally calm. An engineered mesh upper in light silver gray, Flywire cables and a heel counter in a very pale sage green, the Steam shade, a gray midsole, and a Summit White outsole. Nothing shouts, everything holds together. The drop-in React foam insole is the true update compared to 2014.
This Grade School version allows younger fans to wear the same pair as the adult version, released in the spring of 2026. A low-cut, lightweight Kobe that can be worn just as well on the court as with joggers. For those who love Kobes in a sober and elegant version. Distributed at Nike and major basketball retailers, this GS version has the same construction as the adult one: mesh, Flywire, React, rubber outsole. Nothing has been simplified for smaller sizes.
