The Nike Moon Shoe Soft Yellow (Women's) is part of the model's Spring 2026 release, launched on May 8, 2026, as one of three general colorways that mark the first-ever in-line release of this historic silhouette. While the Moon Shoe saw a fashion revival through the Jacquemus collaboration in October 2025, it is with this release that Nike definitively brings the model into its lifestyle catalog. A legendary piece that deserves its aura: originally designed in 1972 by Bill Bowerman for University of Oregon athletes, it was the very first shoe produced under the Nike name, and the first to incorporate the famous waffle sole inspired by Barbara Bowerman's waffle iron.
The Soft Yellow colorway fully embraces the vintage track aesthetic. The upper features a pale Soft Yellow nylon, reminiscent of aged paper, layered with suede overlays in a slightly warmer shade of yellow on the side crescent shapes of the toe and heel. The lateral Swoosh and laces are off-white to maintain chromatic consistency, while the black waffle sole firmly grounds the composition and contrasts with the bright yellow. The Nike branding on the tongue uses the black shade, a tonal choice evident down to the smallest detail.
