Puma LaMelo Ball MB.05 World Tour opens the fifth chapter of the Charlotte Hornets point guard's signature line. Nearly five years after his debut with Puma, LaMelo launches the MB.05 with this inaugural colorway, and he isn't holding anything back.
Neon pink, it is. The official Sun Struck / Pure Magenta colorway covers the engineered mesh upper in a bold magenta, accented with iridescent highlights. The number "1" is repeated across the fabric (a nod to his "1 of 1" status, as Puma puts it). At the heel, a molded barbed wire piece replicates one of his tattoos. Underneath the shoe, the sole displays a molded skull and more "1"s. Puma builds the pair around the image of a rockstar on the hardwood, and the name World Tour extends this idea of a global tour.
In terms of performance, nitrogen-injected NITROFOAM occupies the midsole. Lightweight, responsive, and designed for a player who changes pace without warning. The upper combines textile (approximately 69%) and synthetic materials according to the Puma spec sheet. The brand notes that the model runs small and recommends sizing up by a half-size.
