Salomon ACS Pro A-COLD-WALL Black Olive is what happens when Samuel Ross, founder of A-COLD-WALL*, takes on a 2005 trail shoe. The ACS Pro, originally designed by Christian Tresser, retains its Agile Chassis System frame and Contagrip sole, but everything else has been reimagined in a style that Salomon and ACW* describe as "post-industrial": a floating TPU cage, asymmetrical Quicklace system, and intentionally aged eyelets.
The Black Olive colorway blends a black with dark olive undertones on the upper, a cream-beige cage, and small accents of red, blue, and yellow that recall the brand's technical codes. The upper is made of Matryx jacquard, a fabric reinforced with Kevlar fibers, featuring suede overlays and a rubber-sprayed midsole. These are the official descriptions from both brands, and they say everything about the seriousness of the project.
The A-COLD-WALL* x Salomon collaboration is aimed at those who have followed Samuel Ross's work since his early collections, and more broadly, at all fans of deconstructed technical silhouettes.
