New Balance RC56 Brighton Grey is a pair designed more for the city than for the track. The RC56 belongs to the slim silhouettes New Balance has developed over recent seasons, in the spirit of running shoes from a few decades ago: a flat sole, a prominent side N and a synthetic upper with overlays. New Balance files it under its low-profile models.
This colourway, named Brighton Grey / Tornado, plays on two greys. A light grey on the upper and a deeper, almost charcoal grey on the details and the N. The result is a soft monochrome look that goes with everything, from raw denim to wool trousers.
The RC56 has also been given collaboration versions, which drew attention to the model. This Brighton Grey version sticks to an understated palette, the one you reach for when you want a slim low-top sneaker without having to think about it in the morning.
