Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Slate brings back one of the model's rarest original colorways in its most authentic form since 1995. Released on May 7, 2026, this version marks the return of the Slate in a Big Bubble construction, after only two previous reissues (2005 for the model's 10th anniversary, 2015 for the 20th anniversary). For 11 years, the colorway remained dormant. Nike took advantage of the Big Bubble redesign launched in 2025 to celebrate the silhouette's 30th anniversary, making a big splash by reintroducing one of the most sought-after original pairs in the game.
The White Emerald Green Lake Blue French Blue Obsidian Black colorway offers the most faithful return of the original palette designed by Sergio Lozano. The base layers breathable white mesh with suede side panels that gradually fade to blue, from light Lake Blue near the sole to medium French Blue, up to deep Obsidian around the lacing. The T-shaped white leather toecap provides a bright anchor point, while the embroidered side Swoosh returns in Emerald Green, a graphic signature absent from previous retros. Dark blue eyelets and tongue branding reinforce chromatic consistency, and a teal accent on the heel Swoosh adds the subtle detail that makes all the difference. Underfoot, the visible Big Bubble Emerald Green unit extends the heritage DNA all the way to the ground.
In terms of construction, the Air Max 95 finally regains its original volume: visible Big Bubble Air unit in the heel, breathable mesh on the upper, suede and leather overlays, phylon sole. The silhouette designed by Sergio Lozano was inspired by human anatomy, where the side layers represent muscle tissue and the toecap represents bone.
