Salomon XT-4 OG JAPAN Nami Pack is a Japanese exclusive. Nami means wave, and the entire graphic design of this XT-4 OG stems from that. The sneaker press sees an echo of Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa; Salomon, meanwhile, simply refers to it as a wave pattern.
The wave pattern, in navy blue and indigo, spreads across the lateral and medial panels in a fluid motion. The toebox, heel counter, and trims are white, with a few touches of light blue-violet (Spellbound) adding nuance to the whole. Branding is kept to a minimum to let the sculpted sole and the pattern do the work.
The platform remains that of the XT-4 OG: ACS chassis, EnergyCell+ cushioning, lugged Contagrip sole, reinforced toe cap, and Quicklace lacing. A trail shoe in its construction, a collector's item in its execution. Sold only by Salomon Japan and a few shops like mita sneakers, it wasn't supposed to leave the archipelago. Here it is. For Salomon fans who already own the XT-6 and are looking for a rarer piece with a real story behind the pattern, this is the one.
