Salomon XT-6 Shadow Almond Milk Black Coffee Chocolate. Since 2013, the XT-6 has been the trail shoe that the fashion world has adopted without Salomon ever having to change its recipe. The XT-6 Shadow iteration is an official reinterpretation: the same technical foundation, but with a jacquard mesh upper and semi-transparent film inserts that add depth to the look. Salomon explains that they wanted dark, deep tones, echoing the meditative state of high-altitude climbers.
Here, the palette revolves around coffee. "Almond Milk" (a milky beige) dominates the upper, "Black Coffee" darkens the chassis and reinforcements, and "Bitter Chocolate" brings up the rear on the sole. Three warm tones, with none that clash. The jacquard mesh catches the light differently depending on the angle, which gives the upper a sense of depth.
The rest is pure XT-6: Quicklace lacing to pull in one go, Agile Chassis and EnergyCell midsole for stability, die-cut OrthoLite insole, and deep-lugged Contagrip for soft ground. A 10 mm drop, 365 g per shoe. This colorway is aimed at those who want an XT-6 that is softer than the black versions, to be worn with earth tones, corduroy pants, or technical shorts.
