YZY YS-01 Black officially opens the new Yeezy chapter. The first colorway in the YS-01 lineup, launched in August 2025 for just $20, it marked Ye's direct return to footwear, without Adidas, without an industrial partner.
The YS-01 takes the original Yeezy Slides formula with some profile and finish adjustments. One-piece molded EVA foam construction, wide strap, discreet textured sole. The Black colorway pushes minimalist logic to its maximum: a deep, matte black, without any branding, without logos, without contrast, without a box. The silhouette becomes a sculptural mass that speaks only through its form.
On the foot, the look remains quite close to the historic Onyx of the Adidas Slides, with perhaps a slightly denser and less luminous black. It is the most versatile version of the lineup, one that can be worn both indoors and for impromptu outings, with joggers, cargo shorts, or broken-in pants.
Sold for $40 since February 2026 (the price doubled in a few months), it remains the most direct entry point into the new Yeezy.
